Bodegas Comenge is built in 1999. Its name is in honor of D Miguel Comenge Gerpe, father of the actual president of the winery and autor of the influential book “La Vid y los Vinos Españoles”
The winery is located in the middle of Valle del Cuco. Far from fashions, the objective of Bodegas Comenge is making a great wine distinguished, personal, different from the rest. A complex wine that combines power, elegance, character, softness, taste. A wine that keeps the imprint of its soil, its climate of the Tempranillo variety.
The characteristics of each vineyard and the expression of each variety dictate how long each wine has to remain in the barrel. Are parcels that define different wines, individually searching excellence in each of them. Thus, every year is different, resulting in different characters. It remains, however, the uniqueness of their wines.
Their wines are: Comenge, Don Miguel de Comenge, Biberius, Comenge Verdejo.
From there we will go to Peñafiel to a restaurant with a closed menu of 22 euros per person. Restaurante Convento de las Claras
I am sure that if this is your first time in going to Peñafiel you will be compelled to go back very soon. The first thing that knocks you as you arrive is the image of the castle. The blow is so strong that is like you were in the middle age movie. We will visit their wine museum, wonderfully decorated, and a guided tour of the castle where you will know its history and other details that will make this trip something unforgettable.
As we end the visit we will go back to Madrid.
