We are going to Bodegas Mocén and Arevalo on Saturday January 3.

We are going to Bodegas Mocen in Rueda a winery with a lot of charm. For its facilities, its wines, its caves, its library, I actually do not know from where to start, because it is amazing what they have done in there.

Rueda is as many other towns in Castilla y León a great producer of wines since many centuries ago. People from the XVI th century used to dig and create incredible caves, to keep the wine in good condition throughout the year at a constant temperature of 17 degrees. There would be hundreds of caves by tis time. Now there are less that have decided to keep digging and create impressive galleries. One of them is Bodegas Mocén .

One of the things you find when you visit the galleries of Bodegas Mocen is a very good collection of glass pieces collected during many years from all over the world.

We will taste two of their wines. A Mocen 2014 (white, verdejo) and a Cobranza 2012 (red, tempranillo).

Then we will turn to visit a library that will leave us stunned. My first thought in my first visit is that I was on a Harry Potter´s movie.

From there we will go to have tapas and wines in a very tasty place, Arevalo.

In Arevalo there is a castle in which the Queen Elizabeth “La Católica” lived during a great part of her life.

We will walk through their streets and we will visit few other buildings as the Museum of Cereal.

Sunset will be at 17,48 h.
